She leaned back in her chair, shaking out her tired fingers as she re-read the closing sentence and breathed a sigh of relief at the thought of finally finishing her novel. She clicked the little 'x' ready to email it off to her editor when she realized she forgot to press save.

I don't. I suffer from writer's block greatly. I think it comes to you when its supposed to though. Its more like uncovering a mystery than creating a plot. Sometimes you struggle for weeks looking for a tiny clue, others you see clues and truths unfold before your eyes so clearly. It can't be forced. If you feel like writing but can't find the words, take a step back- go for a walk. read a book. have a glass of wine. Sometimes its the situation. How can we expect to find an interesting story to write about if we haven't experienced anything to inspire the story as yet?

The best thing about being a reader is the ability to come out the other end of a novel looking at the world a little differently. So the best thing about being a writer is the ability to be a part of the process that takes people on a journey with your characters and hopefully makes them see the world a little differently after they finish the last page.

I was still in high school when I first started writing it. I was in my junior year and facing similar issues to Athiya's mortal life at the time. I too felt a little lost in my private school bubble, determined to start on the path I had planned for myself but unsure of how to get there. The magical world was my escape from my own world, just as I hope it can be for my readers.
