J.L. Bera Dilantik was created through a RPG chat room. I created him to play in the chat so as my usual characters, I created a small history for him. As I was writing the history, I decided to get a composition book and write Dilan’s Journal.
I wrote the journal in a time period before Dilan appeared in the chat rooms. I thought these stories would make a good television show, so I converted his Journal into stories to create the series.
I started writing the stories in 2001 and there have been several rewrites to the story line and some character names. For instance, when I started writing, Dilan decided to leave home n search of adventure. Several years later, I realized that was not a good enough plot story for a series.
I have seen TV shows talking about the crystal skulls and thought that would be a great idea for the new plot so I changed the skulls to gem dragons and have Dilan search for these dragons all over the world of Palerin.
Another change to the story I have changed was when Dilan met Milo and Kes and Milo wanted to take Dilan under his wing because of he had recently lost one of his tranees to evil. The name I gave this deleated character was Jinol as you’ll find out in the next book, the name is given to another totally different character.
A name change I have made was Milo. His original name was Minor, but I didn’t like the name and everytime I read my stories, the name became more horrible each time. So I changed it to Milosin, but Milo for short.
This book has been several years in the making and I am so happy for it to finally come into fruition. Thank you for purchasing my book and I hope you like it.
