Scott Gelowitz Hi Levi,

Yes, eventually. I've worked on it off and on over the past year but haven't had the time to finish it.

You see, I own a small chemical company that ran into some hard times about 2 years ago, soon after the fourth book was published. In order to keep the company going, I took a second job. For the last year and a half, I work that job during the week and then do all of the labor work at my company during evenings and weekends. I also have four children between the ages of 11 and 16 (and a wife) that need me to be around, so some days I'm lucky if I get half an hour at the end of a day to myself.

I have a pretty clear picture of what the final book will be, so it won't take a long time to complete. On the last book I wrote the last third of the novel over a weekend - over 100 pages between friday night and sunday night. Right now I don't have a lot planned for the summer and I have built up some holidays at my job, so I'm hoping to get it done this summer.

Sorry it's not a better answer than that, and sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

Thanks,
Scott.
Scott Gelowitz Wow, great question! It's probably a tie between Percy/Annabeth from the Percy Jackson series and Ron/Hermione from Harry Potter. I like Percy and Annabeth because their relationship seems pretty realistic in the way they deal with each other. Annabeth keeps Percy in check the same way my wife does for me.
Ron and Hermione are great because of all the buildup throughout the books leading up to them becoming a couple, plus Ron is such a typical guy in that he doesn't clue in to all the hints Hermione drops (and I can relate to that!)
Scott Gelowitz Don't wait. Dive in and do it.

For me, worrying about perfection held me back for a long time, but as the old saying goes, the perfect is the enemy of the good. In the world of art, perfect is an impossibility. No book has ever, or will ever, be perfect. Don't stress over writing the perfect book, just jump in and go for it.
Scott Gelowitz The sense of accomplishment.
Scott Gelowitz For me, writer's block is writer's indecision.

If I'm having trouble, it's usually because I can't decide what path to take next. There are infinite possibilities at each point in every story. Trying to figure out which is the right one to chase can be overwhelming. Sometimes you just have to pick one and trust that your subconscious is steering you in the right direction. If it is - great. If it isn't - no big deal. Go back and try again.
Scott Gelowitz Easy answer. I am currently working on book 2 in The Book of Adam series.
Scott Gelowitz Inspiration through perspiration!

I personally get inspired to write through the act of writing, although it can be incredibly difficult to get started. Having four young children means that writing time is from 9pm until I either fall asleep at the keyboard or my wife drags me to bed!
Scott Gelowitz I had always thought about writing a story using my hometown of Grayson as the setting.

I started The Book of Adam - Town Secrets without any real direction, just some characters in the town, but I knew they were going on a quest to discover something. Once I had reached Chapter 6, I didn't really know where the story was going, and I got stuck.

After a few months, I had a small idea but didn't know how to work it into the story line I had been working on. I took that idea and wrote a short story of about 5000 words, mostly in point form, that became the backbone for the series.

Once I had the backbone, it took me another four months to get through the first draft.
