AT the moment, I'm preparing for the launch of Flawless: A Hostile Beauty Novel. It's the first in my new contemporary series, and I'm having a lot of fun writing about friends Verena, Scarlett, Fianna, and Dahlia. I'm working on Scarlett's story now in Beauty Mark, the second book.
St. Martin's Press just put the new Scent of Triumph online for pre-sales. It re-launches March 31, 2015, and I'm so excited! The cover is drop-dead gorgeous. For those of you who read the original indie title, this was a dream come true. On my blog, I discuss the editorial changes that were made, including a new ending. My favorite addition is Danielle's perfumer journal; an entry begins each chapter, and I share insights to her artistic thought processes there. Finally, I'm working on my second historical novel for St. Martin's now too, which is set in the wine country in America and Europe.

I believe it's never been a better time to be a writer. Persistence pays off, so keep writing. It helped me to write across genres--nonfiction, fiction, magazine articles--to hone my skills. Critique groups and professional organizations for romance and mystery writers are also excellent for learning the business and receiving feedback. Finally, if you can't find an agent or publisher, consider self-publishing and create your own success story--my good track record with an indie title gained the attention of an agent and publisher.

When I'm having a block in a story, I take a walk on the beach or a long bath to sort it out.
