Michael Gerhardt All of my stories have at least one character that I like to visit with. I get excited about telling their story. My mind works all the time on how to best get the character's story out of my head and into the head of readers.
Michael Gerhardt I always have two stories going at once. If I get stuck on one, I switch over to the other. Works every time!
Michael Gerhardt Positive feed back from readers. I love it when someone tells me they enjoyed one of my stories. No better feeling than finding out you made someone's day a little brighter.
Michael Gerhardt Most of the aspiring writers I talk to get way too hung up on details and never even start writing. My advice is, JUST DO IT! You'll find out if you are any good at story telling, and if you like the process.
Michael Gerhardt I am doing an e book mystery trilogy under the pen name of David Larosa. The main character is called Rick Elliott, and the first two are available on Amazon..
Michael Gerhardt BLACK PAWN: I was at a party and met a refugee from Liberia. He told me how poor the country was, saying that everyone would be better off "if only he could give each family a chicken. Then they would at least have one egg a day." After that, I had to write a story about how the country got into that situation.
