Hi Todd in NY,
I am so sorry! Our Amazon account has been having difficulties and fullfilling orders a bit chaotic. Regardless, I will sign and send you a hard cover ASAP. Please keep the softcover as my gift, and thank you for letting me know!

Let go of fear and just write. Many times my mind would say, "Who are you to write a book?" feelings of unworthiness, fear of being wrong, fear that I wasn't smart enough, etc. stopped me for a long time. Follow your heart and let go of fear. You really can do it. Also, don't worry about spelling, grammar, or making it perfect. Let the writing flow from you. Others can clean it up later.

The creative process. Sometimes It feels like the pages are writing themselves and I am just the pen that channels the ink onto paper.

For some reason I have never encountered writers block. There is so much to know about food and nutrition that I don't think I will ever run out of things to research and write about. I do get stuck on how to word things sometimes and usually if I sit quietly and take a few deep breaths, the words come.

An expanded version of The Psychology of Food. There is so much more to share on this subject and so many people that can be helped with this information. I am also working on a Good Decisions community page and website at http://www.gooddecisions.com/ that has lots of recipes, articles and information about food, nutrition and the psychology of food.

I take a lot of classes on nutrition, herbalism and psychology. When I learn something fun I am just compelled to write about it and share it! I really love sharing what I learn.

When I became a nutritional therapist I was so excited to begin helping people that I could hardly restrain myself and practiced on anyone who would let me. I would sit down with my clients and customize the perfect diet just for them. We would talk about how we would improve digestion, regulate blood sugar levels, and eliminate food allergies, and how all of this would contribute toward weight loss. Then, filled with hope and excitement, my clients would leave my office revitalized and well-equipped to take on the world and embark on a healthy new lifestyle.
Then, two weeks later, they would return to my office frustrated and upset because they just couldn’t do it. This was when I realized I was trained on how to create a diet, not how to help people implement the diet.
It wasn’t until I was seeing a counselor for personal reasons that I stumbled onto “The Psychology of Food” and discovered the mental aspects of weight loss and behaviors around food. I learned how, by using truth and knowledge vs. emotion and other methodologies and tools, I could help my clients overcome the mental hurdles and
reach their goals. Now, when I customize diets for my clients, I also give them the tools and information needed to implement those diets. This practice has given my clients immediate results and a “can do” spirit that has been amazing to watch.
I also began to see patterns in the diets I customized, and I discovered that many people have similar issues. I am constantly working on improving digestion and regulating blood sugar levels. I am also constantly removing the same foods from people’s diets that are
problematic. When I was putting together the templates for these protocols, I realized that so many people could benefit from this material. I could share what I had learned with not just one person, but with many people if I wrote a book.
This book you now hold in your hands was born from my desire to give this information and knowledge to the masses. Instead of being a cheerleader to one, I can be a cheerleader
to many.
Today, I believe that anyone can lose weight and reach personal goals simply by making a few simple changes in how he or she thinks about him- or herself and food.
