Duncan P. Bradshaw Oohhh, that's a cool one. Most of my choices would probably be quite dysfunctional couples, Tyler Durden and Maria Singer from Fight Club, or Clementine and Joel from Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. I'm gonna have to choose Rick and Anthea from The Walking Dead comics though. It kinda surprised me that they got together first off, after her 'thing' with Dale. Even more surprised that she's lived for so long! Just think it's kinda cool that they're together, as they have both been through the mill, and support each other. Just think that's pretty cool.
Duncan P. Bradshaw I've yet to get this, my problem is the reverse, I get a deluge of ideas. Recently, I started writing a manuscript called ViewPoint, I got a chapter into it, and despite having a decent idea of the story and what I wanted to do, I just wasn't that into it, so I shelved it. The trick is knowing when something just won't work and moving onto something else that will.
Duncan P. Bradshaw For me, it's just the joy of unleashing my creative side, my day job is very methodical and analytical, my writing allows the other side of me to be set free. When you bust out a brilliant scene, or a killer chapter, even before you start editing that bad boy, there really is nothing like it.
Duncan P. Bradshaw I read so many articles when I was writing Class Three, purporting to have good tips etc. I would only offer two bits of advice, first, DO IT. Talking about it is not the same as actually sitting down and getting it done, I know from experience ! Second, write it as YOU would tell a story yourself, if you like a bit of a joke, make sure that comes across in your writing. Ultimately it is your name on the end product, you have to be happy with it.
Duncan P. Bradshaw My next book is called 'The Tales of Doctor Nano', a superhero story, more Nolan's Batman than say Superman. It's going to be a bit of a beast, and is basically two stories in one, the second half is a closely guarded secret, the only person who knows what will happen is me, not spoken to anyone about my plans for it, want it to be a surprise.
Duncan P. Bradshaw I set aside time each night to write, sometimes it flows really easily and I'm really happy with what I've written. Other times I go to bed and it's rolling around my head, the gaps, or something I'm not 100% happy with. I work on it in my head during the day and then when I start writing I'll go back and make the changes I've worked out.
Duncan P. Bradshaw Always loved zombies, the idea goes back around eight years or so, was always going to be a kind of road trip with two brothers, sort of reflective of my own brother. We both, when we've had a few, formulate our zombie apocalypse plan, this formed the cornerstone of the story, the other characters were formed through the narrative.
