Writing is like breathing to me. As a newspaper columnist I have deadlines and can't wait for "inspiration" to strike me. It's a good thing I see stories everywhere. Things that make me wonder. Things I want to know more about. I meet so many interesting people and their stories intrigue me.

For many years I've writted a series called "Love Stories" for the Spokesman Review newspaper. My inbox overflowed with feedback from readers every time I featured a WWll-era couple. Readers were inspired and amazed by couples who endured the separation and trauma brought on by war and yet stayed married for 60-70+ years. My husband suggested I compile the stories in a book-- and there went five years of my life!
