Thanks, Latasha! I friend of mine did this one for me. He's a bit of a photoshop wiz. One of my favs is an image of my face superimposed in The Bride of Frankenstein.

I think you might be able to follow along fairly easily, it certainly helps reading book 1 as well. Basically, book 1 was character introduction and developing individual story arcs, and book 2 was the situational development and shows them all coming back together. I'd certainly recommend getting Dwelling, however, it is not absolutely necessary.

Emerging is book 2 in an ongoing series. Dwelling is book 1 and book 3 should release later this summer.

Absolutely! Growing up, Tales from the Crypt was popular, or at least in my circle of friends. Twin Peaks is also another show that has inspired some of my short stories and poems. The classics are always the best. Old black & white episodes of The Twilight Zone have stories that are eerily relevant today. Another source of inspiration for me comes from media feeds, including what we see on the news or what people are arguing about on Facebook or Twitter. The old fears that inspired the classic tales of our youth resurface in new and frighting ways. And because I write on what terrifies me, what terrifies me is typically inspired from cultural and social anxieties. Take my recent publication of Reinheit, for example. Reinheit deals a lot with racial issues, but most of all, Reinheit deals with ethnocentrism, our tendency to judge differing cultures by the standards of our own culture. Reinheit explores the idea of ethnocentrism gone awry using history as a case study. So, in a way, my inspiration comes from both my classical training in the macabre (ie watching awesome shows like Tales of the Crypt and Twilight Zone) and also from our own cultural anxieties.

I'm currently working on a new book that will delve into a subject matter that truly terrifies me. I'm having a lot fun with it right now, working with classic horror motifs, hoping to shake off the dust.

The best material for writing horror often comes from just simply watching the news. There seems to be a lot of confusion and a lack of general conversation, despite the power of social media. Reinheit was inspired from this fear I've been seeing. Fear of "the other," as it were. Mostly biased. And it reminded me of my studies on the Holocaust, where a lot of fear and anxiety of the times were levied on a particular group of people with disastrous consequences.
