The best thing about being a writer is connecting with readers. I love hearing from readers who see a piece of themselves in my story--whether it's because we're very similar or very different. I think people are drawn to memoir because finding out about other people's lives (whether you find them quirky, inspiring, or even boring) teaches us about ourselves and the world in which we live.
