I just start typing, even if it doesn't make sense. In elementary school, my teachers sent me to the young writers week - probably to get rid of me - and one of the speakers said that you have to write every day. He said to write even if it had nothing to do with your book. I write a lot at work so I come home and am "warmed up" for a writing work out...if that makes sense.

Basically, I was really miserable at a job and I started reading more funny books at night as an escape from reality. Many times I would finish one and think "I could write something as good as this." Finally, I put fingers to keyboard and just started. I enjoy writing so it took my mind off what was happening at the office.

I've always been told to write a book and after several travel misadventures on St. Kitts, I had a good premise. I'm a bit of a magnet for weirdos and crazy situations so other parts are drawn from my life.
