It's a culmination of things to be honest - I might hear something and then my brain begins to plot at any opportunity--often waking me in the middle of the night. Then, as I start writing, the idea always turns into something else and I end up being as surprised as the reader.

By writing what I love to read - I did dabble in romance at one stage and every word had to be prized from me. Now I get excited by my work and often find it difficult to switch off from it.

Several things at the moment. The main thing is called Mind Bender and is the third book in the Adam Stanley series.

Just write. Anything can be fixed and corrected afterwards--concentrate on getting the first draft complete.

Definitely the fact that I can stay in my pj's until lunchtime. Not that I set out to be this slovenly but after my morning cuppa, I check my emails and then get stuck into my writing. I only resurface again once my stomach starts growing and I race around, I have a shower and a bite to eat before losing myself once again.

I'm quite lucky inasmuch as I don't really experience it. However, when my nephew was ill and then my dad, I didn't have any desire to write at all - and I didn't. Writing for me is something I love to do and if the desire isn't there I can't force myself, instead I leave well alone until the need returns.
