Jodi Watters Hi Liz,
So sorry for the delayed response. Thank you for reading - I'm thrilled you're enjoying the Love Happens series books! I am definitely writing more. Grady's story is in progress right now, due late this summer/early fall. Nolan's book will be right behind. I'm also planning a super fun spin-off novella series featuring some of the secondary characters (like Luke, Grant, Macy, Bridget, etc.), and then on to a brand new series centered around a small town. Lots to write, and I can't wait find out these love stories myself!
Thank you again for reading, and for reaching out! <3
Best,
Jodi
Jodi Watters I'd love to tell you January 2015. It will probably be February 2015. But Beckett Smith is a man worth the wait, I promise you. And Hope Coleson is giving it to him good, right now!
Jodi Watters Beyond posting to the main social media sites, I've not done a significant amount of marketing, mainly because I'm still learning the ropes on what works and what doesn't. It's really a wing and a prayer thing for me! And to see you use the word 'success' in the same sentence as my book makes me a little weepy. Honestly. In my mind, I'm nowhere near that word, yet. My expectations are unrealistically high and since Next To Me is only about 4 days post release and my first ever, I'm still waiting with bated breath. The fact that a few people seem to like it thrills me beyond belief. On one hand, I hope every single person loves it so much, they tell their gynecologist's about it. On the other hand, I'm waiting for the review where I'm decimated all over the internet, told even if I wrote the next 'Harry Potter' nobody would buy it, and P.S. my ass looks fat in these jeans. Just about any writer will tell you, self-doubt is a cruel oppressor. What can I say? I need therapy.
Jodi Watters My next release, WRONG THEN RIGHT! Remember getting a little taste of Beckett Smith in NEXT TO ME? He's coming soon so be sure to check out WRONG THEN RIGHT, Book Two in the Love Happens series. Beck heats up the pages with his very own story, recklessly getting hands-on with Hope Coleson, a woman who is strictly off-limits.
Jodi Watters NEXT TO ME came while I was daydreaming on the elliptical, instead of pushing my calorie burn to an effective level. Anything to keep from breaking too much of a sweat, right? But I listen to my playlist while 'exercising' and music inspires me, especially the upbeat Pop, Rock and Alternative kind, and my mind goes to all sorts of places while listening to it.
Jodi Watters I'm still aspiring and growing myself, but the most helpful pieces of advice I've received from wildly successful authors are:
1) Try to write every day. Every. Day. Even if it's only a paragraph. Hard to do after working a 'day job' for eight or nine hours, but it gives you an amazing feeling of accomplishment when you realize that you've written 500 or 1000 words by Sunday night.
2) Don't obsess over one word or one sentence. I find myself spending long minutes agonizing over 'stunning' vs. 'remarkable' when I could be finishing the chapter. You can work it all out at the revision stage.
