Connie Corcoran Wilson My most recent books will be the 2 volumes of "Obama's Odyssey: The 2008 Race for the White House" and it was inspired by being asked to come to Denver and St. Paul (and elsewhere) in 2008 and cover the race from the inside, when I had already been covering it in Iowa and elsewhere.
Connie Corcoran Wilson I'm constantly thinking about things I see or hear or read. I tend to think in terms of whether this might "work" for one of the 9 Circles of Hell, which now has 3 books in the series.

I also think the adventure of covering Obama's run for the presidency deserved (deserves) to be put down for others to have access to in the future, so there's that inspiration. And I had so many good (unused) pictures that I thought might interest others. On a given night, I might take 150 photos, but could only use 5 of them on a given article. I had 1,000 articles and 3 million "hits" on same, so the idea of recording all of that remarkable experience for posterity inspired me.
Connie Corcoran Wilson In the past two months I've completed 2 non-fiction books that trace my coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign, which I covered for Yahoo with press passes. I've been inserting unseen photos I took and cleaning up the prose and others are working on fine-tuning the picture quality and then thee will be at least 2 volumes of "Obama's Odyssey: The 2008 Race for the White House" out by the time the 20 or so Republicans start debating for 2016.
Next, I'll be starting on Book #4 of "The Color of Evil" series.
Connie Corcoran Wilson Be a good student of the English language; don't count on other people to "fix" your grammar mistakes or your spelling errors. Also, don't think you can give up your day job and make enough to live on by writing, alone. Most writers (not all, but most) have other jobs.
Connie Corcoran Wilson I think the best thing about being a writer is that you can do it anywhere, for as long or as short a time as you wish. This helps me, because, after years spent teaching and running 2 businesses, I like to travel and write as I travel.

I also think it is a form of therapy to express yourself in writing, and I have been doing it for 60 years and enjoy trying to master new forms, which is why I write fiction, nonfiction and all kinds of both.
Connie Corcoran Wilson I have never had writer's block, so I can't answer this. My problem is the opposite: turning off my mind, which is always thinking of new things to write.
