Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Britni Patterson In Texas, one of the biggest debates is whether or not you put beans in your chili. In my own family, there was once a knock-down, drag-out fight over my mom (who was from California) putting pinto beans AND kidney beans in her chili (like she always does), and her response was, "Well, it's not like it's going to kill you, dammit!"

In A Thousand Deadly Kisses, it turns out putting the wrong kind of beans in your chili WILL kill you. Oops.
