Toni Poll-Sorensen The Great Gatsby has always intrigued me. Jay and Daisy show the collusion we all enter into when we work our way into relationships. We fight over things we have already agreed to ignore.
Toni Poll-Sorensen Inspiration is everywhere. I never know when I will actually hear a poem in my head. I carry my phone at all times so I use my notes page to capture the words. I also journal about nearly everything, including the books I read.
Toni Poll-Sorensen I have a volume of poems about many of the dances I have made. I have used the rhythms and impressions of those dances to give them voice in a new form. Look for The Voice of Dsnce in 2015!
I am also rewriting poems I wrote for and with my husband. Then, there are a few poems that come randomly that are primarily about human attributes, like bravery or fear, these are incomplete right now. I am not sure where they will go???

Toni Poll-Sorensen Writing is an art so collaborations with others is a great gift, even my husband gets in on the game. You give me 2 lines, I will return 3. The other artists I work with give me great joy. So far all of my work is fully illustrated. I love the serendipity of these collaborations.

Toni Poll-Sorensen Birds was the outgrowth of a love hate relationship with the bird feeders that my husband put in our garden. Once I accepted the birds, I began to look up from the work of the garden to see the garden and the birds that inhabit that special place.
Twists and Turns is a result of a life well lived. It includes poems about love, marriage, death, and emotional pain. These realities of have been felt deeply and were the inspiration for this set of poems.
