I was in England in 2011 for a few days alone. I usually travel with my kids, but this time I wasn't. While wandering around London ,after meeting up with my old English girlfriend for a coffee, I found the freedom strange. My husband doesn't keep track of me while I am away, and my mind started to conjure up wild thoughts about what some people would do in that situation. My girlfriend and I had of course been talking about our childhood, so the story developed from there.

I have always loved to write poetry, and in 1994 I attempted to write a historical romance that was awful. However it did serve a purpose, ( emotionally and spiritually). I have always had a creative mind, and I feel a lot of emotions. I think those things help me step into someone else's shoes and through that experience a story can develop.

I am currently marketing "Don't Look back" and I am also working on a new book.

Go for it! But do your homework first and if you are self publishing, hire a professional editor.

I can hardly answer this question as I can not even begin to consider myself a writer. However, so far from the experience of a "normal person" who has written a book, the best thing so far is when someone I do not know tells me love my book. They are not obligated by friendship or blood to pretend they like the story, they genuinely got wrapped up in the world I created. Now that is an amazing feeling!

I step away and give myself time and space. I find that if i go about my normal day, inspiration for the story will eventually return.
