I'm working on a new novel tentatively titled "Quality Jones and the Time Keepers." It's another time-travel comedy involving a profane heroine, talking animals, a Martian invasion, and wholesale absurdity on an epic scale.

The fame, the fortune, the free alcohol you get when you go to your favorite restaurant, the ability to commit grievous crimes and get off with a warning, the...oh wait, no, I'm thinking of NFL superstar.
I love being able to create stories out of crazy ideas. I love being able to say, "Yes, this novel needs another talking animal to counterbalance the time-traveling heroine's fetish for WWII-era bombers" and then being able to write it.
Writing is freedom. Freedom to imagine. Freedom to create anything you want. Freedom to commit grievous crimes and...oh wait, not that last part.

You know that voice in your head? No, not the one asking you to chop up the neighbor's stuffed animal collection. The one saying you can't write. You know how it says, "You can't write a book, you're not that good, no one will want to read it, you suck, can we go play video games now?"
In as polite and courteous a manner, tell that voice to go *bleep* itself because it doesn't have the first *bleep* idea of what you can and can't *bleep* do and, really, who the *bleep* cares whether anyone reads your book or not because, *bleep*, as long as it makes you happy, who gives a *bleep* about what anyone else will think. So *bleep* write what you want and have fun, and don't let any *bleep**bleep*-winded *bleep* sack of *bleep**bleep**bleep* with a *bleep* *bleep* *bleep* crammed up his *bleep* tell you not to write what you love.
But if you write, don't swear a lot. That *bleep*'s *bleep* rude.
