J.T. Bishop In 2012, as the Mayan calendar was about to end on Dec. 21st, there were all sorts of theories about what it all meant. I watched a video that talked about how Earth at one time was a hub of activity for extraterrestrials thousands of years ago. I wondered what it would be like if they were still here? What if a community of aliens lived among us on earth? And of course, they had a problem. They were at risk for extinction. And what if one person could save them, but her life was at risk as well? And boom, Red-Line was born. I've been rockin' with it ever since.
J.T. Bishop My story inspires me. My characters, too. I just love to write them and see how they develop and how their interactions change and morph as the story grows. It amazes me how often a scene or dialogue develops as I'm writing. I think I enjoy that the most.
J.T. Bishop I have the Red-Line trilogy and its sister series - The Fletcher Family Saga, published. I am now working on a new series focusing on two detectives and their involvement with some intriguing characters, which may, or may not, have a connection to my other books. We'll see!
The first book in the new series, First Cut, will be published in January 2020, and book two, Second Slice, will be out in March. Stay tuned for Third Blow and Fourth Strike. They'll complete the series.
J.T. Bishop Keep writing. It's the best thing for you. The more you write, the better you get, and hopefully you love it, too. If you don't love it, you'll never make it.
J.T. Bishop I love sitting down and writing about new characters, dialogue, scenes and watching how it all turns out. I love a great angst scene and putting my characters through the wringer and seeing what comes out in the end. It's so much fun!
J.T. Bishop Luckily, I haven't really dealt with it. I always have an idea in my head for a scene when I sit down to write. It may take a second to get warmed up, but once I do, the writing comes easily.
