Engy Albasel Neville Write about what you know and what you love.
Engy Albasel Neville Being a writer is a wonderful creative outlet that allows me to be as imaginative as I want to be to make the story in my mind come to life.
Engy Albasel Neville This happens to the best of us. I deal with it by throwing myself into research about the topic I'm writing about even if I've already gathered all the research I need. Sometimes seeing images or reading something about the topic sparks new ideas for me.
Another thing I've learned, if you continue to write even during times of "writer's block", the ideas will come. It's like everything else, the more you train, the better and more productive you'll be at it.
Engy Albasel Neville So many things inspire me from beautiful portraits of scenery to being outdoors to listening to the crashing waves of the ocean. I'm an outdoor girl and feel most rejuvenated when surrounded by trees, the beach or even my garden.
Once an image or an idea resonates with me, my imagination takes over and the story begins to take a life of its own.
Engy Albasel Neville The current book I'm writing Loved In Time is part of The Travelers series (A Leap In Time is the first book in the series) was inspired by the city my Mom grew up in.
Nablus, a small city in the Middle East, was always special to me, partly because its my Mom's hometown and separately, because the city has always been magical to me in the culture, architecture, lifestyle and decadent rich food.
There's so much history there, so many hidden laneways that zigzag through every neighborhood, the charm oozes out of everything that is Nablus.
I couldn't fathom writing a series about time travel and not include Nablus. The main characters in this book played supporting roles in the first book. I enjoyed developing their characters and storylines so much in the first book, I felt they needed their own book.
Engy Albasel Neville I'm writing book #2 in The Travelers series, Loved In Time. You'll see some of your favorite characters from A Leap In Time make an appearance.
