Susan Kiskis I'm actually in the middle of several projects, which is typical of my personality. I am writing my next book (working title: On the Bhakti Path), working on a documentary and non-fiction book (Women of the West), and a 4th book which is coming to me in pieces. All are non-fiction.
Susan Kiskis My advice for aspiring writers is just to write. Write about anything and everything! You never know how small observations can spool great works. Plus, once you start, it's addictive. You will always want to write. Keep some notecards handy or email yourself quick reminders of experiences or things that inspired you when you don't have the time for a full session of writing. Plus, never underestimate the power of writing for even 15 minutes. It's like pennies-they add up.
Susan Kiskis Writer's block is an interesting process for me that involves much procrastination - not something I would encourage any other writers to do. However, I have been slowly becoming more disciplined in the sense that even when I don't feel the inspiration to write or feel a block, I practice writing. I write something, anything, even if it doesn't have anything to do with my current projects. It usually helps the creative juices to flow, ease the guilt of not writing and makes it less scary to push through the next time.
