Oh my GOSH! I'm just a "Teensy" bit late w/this reply. I just have not had time to check out GR in FOREVER, but I apologize so, SO much for leaving you hanging like this!!
Unfortunately....I agreed to do another event before they set the date for NTTBF 17. But I am incredibly sad to miss it.
Thank you so much for asking and I hope you go and have an incredible time! Tons of my friends are gonna be there and it will be AMAZING! :D

Hi Drew! I'm so sorry I am just now seeing this! I've been buried up in edits for Sparks Of Light and haven't been on GR in a while!
So, DIM was initially planned for three books. However, I'm taking a break between Book II and III to write a stand alone. So...gonna be a BIT of time before a third book hits. But GOOD news is that Sparks comes out Aug 1st, 2017, so you'll get to hang w/Hope and the gang again soon!!

I was telling my (then 7-yr old) niece a story. And she said "Aunt Janet, that would be a good book.
From there, I started thinking "Hmm.. If I had the power to go anywhere, do anything, what would it be".
For me, the answer was easy. I'd always wanted to have the ability to travel through time, to visit worlds that are lost forever.
I've always loved history. And I've had a major girl-crush on the fantastic, fascinating Eleanor of Aquitaine for YEARS. So...that's where I decided to send my time travelers first. To the brutal world of medieval England.
From there, I started thinking "Hmm.. If I had the power to go anywhere, do anything, what would it be".
For me, the answer was easy. I'd always wanted to have the ability to travel through time, to visit worlds that are lost forever.

Get involved with (or start your own) critique group!!! That is the absolute BEST advice I can possibly give. Writing can be a lonely business. And I can't even express how much it helps both your confidence--AND your writing--if you have other writers to lean on.

I'm currently working on the sequel to The Dim, which will come out Spring 2017. It's so much fun to take these characters to brand new places!

There are two things that are equally amazing, actually.
One is getting to know other authors, publishing folks, bloggers, etc...within the writing community. My circle of friends has widened so far, I can hardly believe it!
And the second--for me--is seeing characters I hadn't even planned on just come alive right before my eyes. It's like--"Who the hell are you, and where did you come from?"
There is a nun in Dim, that I did not plan, or even think about planning for. But there she was. She just sprang to life out of nowhere and took her place on the page. Now, she's one of my favorite "people" in the book.
