L.M. Williams When I have writer's block I do 1 of 3 things.
1: I try to brainstorm ideas of what might happen later in a book to help inspire me to write something where I am currently at
2: I actually start writing something else, whether it be something small like flash fiction or poetry, to even starting a new book
3: I start reading one of the many books that are on my shelf and try to pry inspiration from those or wait and let the writer's block phase pass while I enjoy a great book!
L.M. Williams Personally, the best part of being a writer is creating this world that I can completely immerse myself in. I know when I feel satisfaction for my novel that others may feel the same way. One of the main reasons why I began writing was because I didn't like how author's ended their books. I write my own endings that feels...conclusive. Yet I can put in suspenseful parts and sad parts so I can feel what the characters feel. I can only hope that my readers get this same connection with the characters that I had while writing them.
L.M. Williams My advice would be to follow your dreams! If I had listened to all of the people who told me I couldn't make becoming an another a reality, there would be no Rising Stars Trilogy. You have to have the determination and dedication that comes with being an author. I self-published because I thought it would be the best route for me to take, but you can also find an agent. If this, becoming an author, is what you truly see yourself doing then go for it! Find a good support group of friends and family who can be there when things aren't going oh-so great and for the times when celebration is in order! Good luck on your adventures!
L.M. Williams Currently I am working on the revisions for book 2 (Falling Sons) and finish writing book 3 (Dying Moons) of the Rising Stars Trilogy. I am also cooking up ideas for another trilogy, unrelated to Rising Stars, that's simmering on the burner and will probably be the next thing to surface once the Rising Stars Trilogy is completed.
L.M. Williams This is a tough question. I have found over the years that forcing myself to sit down and write doesn't really work. I have to feel motivated, almost a "calling" from the pen to want to sit down and write. Usually once I start writing though, time simply flies by and next thing I know I have been writing for hours!
L.M. Williams I had recently been reading other novels about angels and I was intrigued by what I read. I wanted to create my own world and own characters with a new spin on how we perceive angels.
