Hi Martin. Thanks for your question. (Sorry, I don't pop in to Goodreads that often, so I just saw it now.) My next book is in the works and I'm hoping to publish it next spring. For more info, please see my website ... https://steveackley.wordpress.com.

Hi Paula,
Thanks for writing. I hope you win a copy of the book.
My branch of the Ackley family comes from upstate New York (Rensselaer, near Albany). My grandfather was also named Harry, his brothers were James and Russell, then he had two half-sisters, Ruth and Dorothy. In the next generation, my dad and his two sisters moved west and I believe some of the other offspring moved to Florida. Any of that ring a bell?

Yes, Nicholas Ackley! He's supposedly the progenitor of all the Ackleys in America. As I understand, his old family farm still exists in Connecticut and is a historical landmark. I've considered showing up there and asking if I could crash for the night ... after all, I am kinfolk :-)

So Helen was telling the truth! I couldn't always tell if she was or if the stories were exaggerated. There is a booklet about the Ackleys in America which I don't have. I am sending you an email to your website of the Ackley covered bridge. By the way, I won your book. I look forward to reading it.
