Do you have any new books coming out in 2024?
Amy E. Reichert Alas, no! But I am working on something new (and a bit different), but there is a long way to go before I have news to share.

I'm a Wisconsin librarian and a big fan! Can you say anything about the book you're working on now? When in 2021 do you think it might be published? Do you have any public presentations coming up where I could hear you speak about your books and writing?
Amy E. Reichert Hi Pam, I can't say much other than I hope to have some announcements soon. I don't have any public speaking engagements lined up, and probably won't until next year. Sorry this isn't a more fulfilling answer. I love libraries, so keep up the great work!

Do you plan to write a sequel to "The Simplicity of Cider"? It is one of the best books I've read this year. I love the characters and learned so much! Thank you!!!!
Amy E. Reichert Thank you! I don't have any plans at the moment for a sequel--but one never knows where the future will lead.

Amy, I have not seen (though I could have missed) a local article about you, your books, and your ties to Wisconsin. There are loads of book groups here that might pick up on such information and local links! Have you ever done a reading at Boswell Books? Do you still live in the area?
Amy E. Reichert I have done many events at Boswell and still live in southeastern Wisconsin. On my website, you can find links to many different interviews where I discuss my books and Wisconsin. It's easy to miss these things as there is so much information out in the world. I hope that helps. :)

I loved your latest book, plus the grilled cheese sandwich ideas were amazing. But any chance you would share the bacon caramel brownie recipe? I would love it! Keep writing - your books are wonderful!
Amy E. Reichert Hi Sharon, in truth, there is no specific recipe. But if I were to make them, I'd take my favorite brownie recipe (which is usually a box of Ghiradelli brown mix), make a homemade caramel (which is easy and I have a recipe for it in my book THE SIMPLICITY OF CIDER, or use your favorite caramel sauce) and stir crispy, chopped bacon into the caramel. Then I'd drizzle that on top of the brownies when I take them out of the oven. Bon appetit!

Will all your books take place in Wisconsin? I hope so, you really did Wisconsin justice in The Coincidence of Coconut Cake! If I didn't already live here, I would've wanted to go to Summerfest and tour Wisconsin! WI tourism should pay you!!

When did you attend Marquette University? My daughter (communications/journalism major) and son-in-law both attended and graduated in 1994. Father Leahy was the VP back then, now he is President at Boston College. BTW... Coconut is its own 'food group' at my house, especially cake and frosting! Keep up the great work!
Amy E. Reichert I attended MU from 96-98, so I would have been after them. And I agree, coconut deserves it's own food group. :) Thank you!

Is the coconut cake recipe really your grandmothers? I just finished baking it and it turned out great! It looks delicious!
Amy E. Reichert It is not my grandma's recipe, but Lou's. It is, however, the recipe I use when I bake a coconut cake. Thrilled it turned out for you!

Please tell me you are working on another book? I absolutely LOVED CCC and think it would make a fantastic movie! Your flair for writing (and describing food) has me drooling for more! I'm looking forward to trying the recipe! Thanks for such a delightful read, it truly warmed my heart.

This was such a well written book and everything ran true. I loved the one liners, wit, and the depth of the characters. How long did it take to write this book? I truly look forward to the next.
Amy E. Reichert I did the math the other day. From the day I opened my first Word doc to start writing to the day it came out was 1782 days (about 5 years).

Amy E. Reichert Hi Stephanie, I do bake (though not as much as I'd like because then I'd eat it all). And the coconut cake recipe is the one I use - it's dangerously delicious. If you make it, be sure to let me know how it turns out - or, better yet, send a picture!

And I'm so happy you loved the book! That's the best thing a writer can hear!
