I got the idea for WHERE'S WILSON while trying to come up with the second story in our Evie and Knox Stories Bedtime Collection. MAN IN THE MOON is very whimsical and poetic. I love stories like that, and readers really took to it. Yet, I wanted to do something a little funnier and quirkier for the second book. Thus, how Wilson was born! This was such a fun story to write. There's rhyming and counting, and I love all the different characters. Illustrator, erin the great, did an exceptional job bringing everything to life with her hand-painted watercolor illustrations. Just like with MAN IN THE MOON, she added some hidden touches that I can't wait for readers to find!

I write in several genres among many mediums, so I'm always working on multiple projects at one time. From children’s book to screenplays, if a good story strikes I'll start writing right away. My next project to be released (fall 2015) is my children's book WHERE'S WILSON. WHERE'S WILSON is the story of what happens when one of the counting sheep goes missing right before bed. It's the second book in the Evie and Knox Stories Bedtime Storybook Collection, and I couldn't be more thrilled! To find out more, please visit evieandknoxstories.com.

This is the advice I've been offered throughout my life that has stuck with me. Hopefully, it will have an impact on other aspiring writers as well. Never stop writing, no matter what. Always believe in yourself. And please, for the love of everything good, don't compare yourself to other writers. Everyone's journey is unique, be proud of yours and stay true to yourself.

Wow, fun question! There are a lot of great things about being a writer. These are some of my favorite ones (in no particular order): creating characters you love, being surprised by your own story and/or words, and finding out someone else loves your work! Each of these are rewarding and make it all worth it in the end!

Inspiration can come in the most random forms. Sometimes, I'll be listening to a song or looking at something, and POW--there's an idea. Many times, the genesis of the piece remains a mystery to me. A thought pops up and leads to another thought, then to another, until I say, "Wow, that would make a great story!"

Great question! I would love to say I plow through it and keep writing, but oftentimes I take some time away from the piece I'm working on and either start another writing endeavor or do something completely different like run. I figure any story worth writing, is always going to be there--let it come out when it's ready.
