Jen Fraser To write a good book, be sure to get *honest* feedback on your manuscript from friends who love the genre you're writing. Listen and act on that advice - even if it means a major re-write. The book title / subtitle ought to be emotive or arouse curiosity or desire.
Jen Fraser Over my 15+ year career as a creative designer, colleagues would remark on my ability to 'think outside the box'. I had assumed that all designers do this, but it turns out only 2%* of the population actually do (*George Land's study). This is a shockingly small figure, and one I'd love to help increase. My book 'Everyone's a Genius' helps to shift readers' mindset into inventor mode.
Jen Fraser I loved 'Ignore Everybody' by Hugh MacLeod. I wanted my book to be just as sharp, insightful and enjoyable - so having an existing benchmark to compare your work to goes a long way to help. Incidentally, my book explains how and where to easily get inspired.
Jen Fraser I tackled my procrastination by getting ready to write off-site, at the library. It meant being away from distractions, and not allowing myself any excuses. Having or setting a firm deadline also helps focus efforts.
