I can tell the truth, unfettered by social more's and expectations to behave as widows are expected to behave. That's something about which everyone I meet seems to have a different idea.

The proceeds of the book, after expenses, will go to fund social clubs for widows. My dream is that there will be such clubs across the country one day. In the immediate time, I've set up a second of two such clubs and am working on standardizing rules and organization. The focus of those will be safety and security for participants, and offering a spectrum of events that will appeal to a broad cross section of widows and widowers.

I had no expectation of ever writing a book. After the sudden loss of my husband and the chaos that ensued, I was encouraged to write by at least 6 living people, and I kept getting the feeling that my 5 widowed and departed family members (including my husband) wanted me to write. The concept was that, perhaps, in putting a book together I could help others
