Honestly I wouldn't say I write in any specific genre. My current series is YA Fantasy but I am also working on a dystopian piece that will be released as part of an anthology this summer and I have a crime thriller that will likely go out next year. I do greatly enjoy writing fantasy though, and I thinks it's because really anything can happen. You aren't bound by the laws of this world and that in itself is exciting!

The biggest contributing factor that inspires me is emotion. Happiness, bereavement, horror, comedy or anything that elicits a response that triggers emotion drives my stories. You follow a story for what it does to you and how you feel. I write from that place to ensure that the tale travels with you.

The best thing that I can say to any person writing is to always remember why you started writing in the first place and to never stop or compromise. Do not let others dictate to you what your writing is or should be. Tell your story as you see it. As a writer, you are a creator, so create what you want.

The thing I love the most about being a writer is that I have the ability to create something. I can make worlds, people, lives and places to any degree which I please. It is an invigorating feeling to step away from a written work and see what it has become and then to dream of what it will be.
