Don't give up and don't let rejection cause you to stop writing. Read as much as you can and branch out to new authors and genres, doing such helped me find my niche and it kept me from only comparing myself to a few authors and genres, which paralyzed me at times. I also took the step to have people read a portion of my book without knowing it was me to get some real, honest feedback. Their encouragement and longing for more of the story solidified my determination to finish and publish my book.

I am working hard to promote my first book, as an indie author, mother of 2 and a full time job I knew I needed to take a small break before I dove further in to Book 2, but it has been started and I plan to get moving on it in January 2015.

My father has always been an avid reader, his library was something I longed to be able to read even before I knew basic words. I would touch the bindings and look at the book covers longing to read the stores hidden in Terry Brooks and Tolkien's pages. Each Christmas I would look forward to my dad's presents which were always new books. I have countless writings from grade school and even had my first pen name is 3rd grade. Writing is a release for me and the feeling I get as the story shapes is indescribable.

The idea for Trust was developed in 1999 and fully developed in 2009. People I have met, books I have read and my work in the biological and psychology fields have inspired and driven me. My favorite and most inspirational authors have been Kim Harrison, Terry Brooks, Cecy Robson, Jeanieine Frost, Patrick Rothfus, Joss Whedon, and Kelley Armstrong.
