Many years ago, I watched a news program on television in which a scientist stated his theory that legends of vampires were possibly based on real people who, due to illness or physical condition, were unable to tolerate sunlight... I began to wonder, what if legends of vampires were based on people with a real physical condition that caused them to need to consume blood, and have an unusually long lifespan, and how would society treat them?
