N.M. Catalano I thought about Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler, but I shook my head no because she was a bit immature.
Right now, from my favorite books and series, I would have to say Mackayla Lane and Jericho Barrons from the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. Both characters are very strong by themselves. Their strength compliment each other, and together they're a force to be reckoned with. He brings out the animal in her. I love him.
N.M. Catalano Thank you so much Shay! :) SWITCH is due out this month!!! If you're on FaceBook, join me at N.M. Catalano or N.m. Catalanoauthor for all of the posts, announcements and just fun stuff :)
N.M. Catalano I wrote STRANGER as a short story four years after my split with my second husband. I finally had to tell their story.
N.M. Catalano Real life is an amazing inspiration if you feel it. Real life.
N.M. Catalano I am currently working on SWITCH, the next part of STRANGER. I began MEMOIRS OF A YOUNGER MALE LOVER a couple of years ago, stories based on true experiences of younger male lovers.
N.M. Catalano Just write, and read, and write, read, so on and so on. Tell your story, if you are passionate about it, love it, if it is a part of you, you have to write it. And you will be, must be, your worst critic. Be honest and critique. A lot. And don't sugar coat, your story will lose it's voice. Tell it as it comes to you.
N.M. Catalano Truly? I wrote STRANGER because I wanted to read it. It was a story inside me that was screaming to come out. The best thing about being a writer is telling stories.
N.M. Catalano Writers block is tough. If there is a particular scene I'm working/writing and I'm having trouble getting through it often times there is one further on in the story that is going through the back of my mind. I'll go to this other part of the story and come back later to the part I was originally working on. Sometimes I find what I had originally intended to happen there ends up being something else.
