That gets harder in the Spring, when my garden is so beautiful, it beckons me to come outside. Then I do most of it in my head, sitting down to write in short stints. I must admit, though, I'm not making as much progress as i do in those rainy days of winter!

The third book in my Wagner-Callender Mystery Series. I figured there's a limit to the number of murders an amateur sleuth can encounter, so I'm making the third book about her detective friend. I got started with a bang (literally), but am struggling with what, of necessity, is partly police procedural--a new learning curve.

Usually, if I have writer's block, it's because my book has gone off the rails (like my current work). It's not that I can't write; the book just doesn't work. Then I have to go back and dissect it to discover what's missing. That's not nearly as much fun as writing.

I can work whenever it pleases me, whether that's at 3 p.m., or 3 a.m. I've always been a night owl and love setting my own schedule (or lack thereof).
