As an author, you're constantly traveling between the fictional worlds you create. They each have their promises and drawbacks. Choosing one is hard. I suppose I would most enjoy the world at the end of H.G. Wells' In the Days of the Comet, where life-work balance is built into society and humans have lost greed and envy. I would be happy writing stories of alien worlds and mini-farming.

Your guess is as good as mine. My last release, The Feud popped into my mind as I was driving to the train to go to my then day job. Within ten minutes, 90% of the story was just there. I spent the morning scribbling and typing up ideas before I lost any of it. Stories just happen and there's no telling what's going to trigger an idea.

I don't know. It just happens. When you are born to write, you don't need external inspiration. It comes from somewhere within you.

I have two books almost ready to release. One is in final editing and the other is ready for editing. That one is the first of a series. I'm also working on the reverse story for Mr. Smith?

Keep writing. I took many years off to try to build a traditional career to support my daughter. In the end, those were wasted years. I regret that I didn't keep trying to get published.

Good question. Mostly I think it's just that writing is a mental and emotional release. The stories want out and keeping them bottled up can be distracting and frustrating. You write for yourself and the sake of the story. Everything else follows after that.

I go do something else; woodworking, cooking, taking a walk. I don't try to fight it.
