“Let my worship be within the heart that rejoices,
for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals.
Therefore, let there be beauty and strength,
power and compassion, honor and humility,
mirth and reverence within you.”

“And you who seek to know me,
know that the seeking and yearning will avail you not,
unless you know the Mystery:
For if that which you seek,
you find not within yourself, you will never find it without.”

“Four times in the year the Great Sabbat
Returns, and the witches are seen
At Lammas and Candlemas dancing,
On May Eve and old Halloween.
When day-time and night-time are equal,
When Sun is at greatest and least,
The four lesser are summoned,
Again witches gather in feast.”

“Doreen Valiente wrote the Charge Of The Goddess…Gerald Gardner's books of rites show the Charge developing in the 1940s and early 1950s from a pastiche of Crowley's writing to one of Charles Godfrey Leland and Crowley. What Doreen did was to keep the Leland, which she thought more authentic, put in a new framework, and write the “White Moon Charge”, which is wholly original in its words, although its basic form, of a universal nature goddess identified with the moon and addressing her devotees, is based on Apuleius's "Metamorphoses", from ancient Rome.”

“The waxing moon is the time of growth and invoking for the things you want. The full moon is the time of integration and perfection, the high tide of psychic matters. The waning moon is the time of decrease and of banishing the things you want to get rid of. The dark of the moon is the time when dark forces are abroad, and not a good period to venture into the psychic realms.”

“Satanism, however, by its very nature, can only be an offshoot of Christianity; because before you can worship Satan you have to believe in him. Before you can celebrate a Black Mass, the essential act of which is to defile the sacred host, you have to believe in the real Mass. And if you believe in the real Mass, you are a Christian!”

“For my part. I’ve never been able to see any sense in the teaching which requires people to forgive wrongs whether or not the wrong-doer has shown any signs of repentance. As I see it, this is simply encouraging the evil-doer to go and do it again to someone else. I have always thought that this is one of the major weaknesses of Christianity….”
