In English, the term «Lie» comes from the Indo-European leogh, which means «falsehood». We could say then, that Humans found in Lying, the capacity to be creative.
The same knife that the monkey has in its hand can kill you or perform a surgery capable of saving your life. It all depends on the use you give it. A coherent, free and educated mind learns to lie in the right way: through art, romance, poetry, through the beauty of making sense of things, of connecting them with one another.
That said, a truth becomes totally relative to the point of view from which it is looked at. We can compare this to something as simple as the fact that, for a colorblind person a pencil is not red, although I see it red. What is the truth? Well, many insects and animals do not see it red either; the only thing that makes the pencil red is my ability to see the seven hundred Hz of the vibrational wavelengths of light.
The great problem with truths is that they seek to be absolute and to impose themselves on others. The person who sees that the Earth is Flat, sees the World as Flat and he is based on what his limited eyes perceive; for him, that is a truth as any other. People who say that the Earth tends to be spherical or ovoidal can belong to one of two groups: those who blindly trust others without asking questions, and those who have the ability to verify for themselves. In every case, truth is a perception. Truths are never absolute; they are perceptions. The more you want to impose your truths on others, the more you will be contributing to the collective lie.”
