“There is an old saying that you can’t kill a frog by dropping it into hot water. A frog dropped into hot water will immediately jump out. But if you put the frog in cold water and gradually warm it up until it is scalding hot, you will have him cooked before he knows it. The encroachment of bad habits in our lives is very much like this. They seem rather small things at first—things we do or say that at first seem trivial.
