ManWoman, born Patrick Charles Kemball in a small town in British Columbia, had a "spiritual wake-up call" in the 1960s that transformed him from "a redneck Canadian who liked hotrods" into a man whose mission it was to reclaim the swastika from its Nazi taint back to its peaceful, sacred origins. His journey has included covering his body in over 200 tattoos, mostly Swastikas from cultures across the globe and also a third eye, inked in the center of his forehead.

His words and art are respected by many around the world for their message of love and acceptance, particularly in the tattoo community because so much of that message has been expressed through ManWoman's extensive tattooing. At the Traditional Tattoo & World Culture Festival, many attendees said that they came particularly to hear ManWoman speak about the reclamation. ManWoman has exhibited his artwork (including a series of 'sacred vaginas' and 'sacred penises') at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles and is collected by comedian Dan Aykroyd.

He was a prolific painter, sculptor and poet whose dreams were a guiding influence throughout his life and provided a rich source of inspiration for his art and poetry. He followed this influence with dedication (40 years of dream journals) and courage since at times these images and instructions seemed outrageous and controversial. Pursuing his unique creative impulses led ManWoman to become involved with many diverse circles: arts communities in Edmonton, Calgary, Cranbrook, Los Angeles and New York; the ManKind Project/New Warrior Training; Friends of the Swastika internet network; tattoo communities, especially these deeply committed to the reclamation of the benevolent spiritual use of the swastika particularly those in Ireland, England, Denmark and Germany; Dances of Universal Peace groups and their associated Sufi circles.

He is survived by his wife Astarte "Dale" Sellers, brother Harry Kemball, former wife and mother of his four children Mimi Kemball, son Ivan Cat (Marti Livingstone), daughters Serena Kemball (Scott Pflieger), Meenoy Kemball and Yoni Bremner (Cam Bremner) and grandsons Jazz Kemball, Connor Bremner and Sivert Livingstone Cat.
