Sad that I won't be able to read about an Algeria/BSA trip.I still pine for my Shooting Star.
Do you remember the days when we never had to lock our bikes and there was no key!
One night someone just got on it and rode away......
Actually I think I know the guys who did it - I was doing a programme about the South London Chapter of the Hells Angels, - but I didn't pursue it as it might have jeopardised my job with Thames TV.
Speaking of television, I thought your missing family progamme very well made. Crikey, you must have had to do a hell of a lot of research!

Anthony,
thank you for your kind words. Your agent, alas did not share your view - but that's all history now.
I am writing but not a related book yet - there is one there but I only want to commit when I can see it through. The next one was going to be about BSAs (titled The Boys From Birmingham), another juxtaposition but this time of a trip through Algeria. Sadly recent events...

Are you writing another? Would love to read it if you are.
(used to have a BSA Shooting Star (upgraded to 650cc!).

Nothing wrong with that! I love triumphs, even if I currently have a BMW 650. Maybe the next one... ;)

As regards the TV programme, I can not stay silent any longer. A TV company from Australia put in all the hard work and simply asked me to turn up and say a few words. Turns out that the period covered in my book saved that missing persons life from being recorded a complete scandal!!!
