The market today is much larger and is dominated by a list of big players that dwarf smaller companies in their sheer size and share of available investment capital. The fact that these giants are so large does not necessarily mean that small-cap companies are undercapitalized. Many of these companies have no desire to compete with the likes of Wal-Mart and McDonalds, preferring to excel in a niche market that's too small for the big players to bother with.”
