Ricardo Chávez Castañeda nació en la Ciudad de México en el año de 1961. Escritor, se le incluye también dentro de las filas de la Generación del Crack, junto a Jorge Volpi y Pedro Ángel Palou. A pesar de ello, él se dice un escritor “que se ha formado en solitario”, y que expone en su literatura la preocupación y búsqueda de valores primordiales, como la esperanza, la bondad y la verdad.
