Lydia Alekseevna Obukhova was a Russian writer.

Lydia Obukhova was born in Kutaisi into a family of actors. After the death of her father, she was adopted by her stepfather, a border guard officer. Due to the constant traveling, the family studied in different schools. She lived in the Caucasus, Ukraine, Central Asia, the Volga region and Belarus. In 1940 she graduated from secondary school No. 10 in the city of Vitebsk. The war found Lydia Obukhova on the border in Lithuania. She spent the entire Great Patriotic War in a fascist concentration camp (as the daughter of a border guard).

She worked in the genres of historical novels, children's and documentary prose, fiction. She wrote several books about Yuri Gagarin ("In the beginning was the
