For Clare, storytelling has always been a sacred space — a place of wonder, connection, and escape. Now, as an author, they strive to offer readers that same refuge through stories infused with magic, romance, and quiet resistance.

A queer, neurodivergent creative, Clare writes with an open heart and a justice-driven lens, often centering marginalized voices and themes of chosen family, healing, and hope. Their work is rooted in a gentle faith — one that finds God in softness, starlight, and the radical act of compassion.

Clare lives in the West Midlands, UK, with their spouse and two children. When not building fantastical worlds or devouring books, they can be found gaming, binge-watching cozy series, or crafting handmade magic.

The Month I Rediscovered Some Missing Pieces

Hey Besties!

The UK is *still* in the middle of a heatwave—or perhaps temperatures above 25°C are just our new normal?!

Either way, I *think* I'm finally getting used to it... even if I still spend half my day camped out in front of the fan! 😂

The hot weather in July hasn’t slowed me down one bit. In fact, this month, I feel as though I’ve rediscovered some missing pieces of myself.

July turned i

Kyra Lennon
“It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair that I’d stumbled across the kind of man I used to find irresistible, or that he’d managed to stare right inside my brain to locate my weaknesses. The thrill of being wanted while pretending not to be interested was a game I’d played over and over during my youth. I’d grown up since then. I’d done more than my share of getting mixed up with men who were all ego and muscles, and he reminded me exactly why I’d given them up.

Unfortunately, my body hadn’t got the memo yet.”
Kyra Lennon

Kyra Lennon
“Erica had asked me a million times. 'Madison, are you sure you’re just the child minder? He pays you a lot of money for doing hardly anything.' Pushing aside the blatant insinuation that I was his weekend whore, I’d always told her the absolute truth. He’d never so much as looked at me inappropriately, let alone anything more.”
Kyra Lennon, If I Let You Go

“I focused, rather embarrassingly, on his chest which was rising and falling slowly.

I left teeth marks!”
Kyra Lennon, If I Let You Go

Joseph Delaney
“The first step towards knowledge is to accept your own ignorance.”
Joseph Delaney, Curse of the Bane

George R.R. Martin
“Woman?” She chuckled. “Is that meant to insult me? I would return the slap, if I took you for a man.” Dany met his stare. “I am Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the Unburnt, Mother of Dragons, khaleesi to Drogo’s riders, and queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.”
George R.R. Martin, A Storm of Swords
