David Huerta es un escritor, editor y traductor mexicano, nacido en Ciudad de México en el año 1949. Su relación con la poesía se dio naturalmente, dado que su padre, Efraín, fue un poeta muy respetado. Colabora desde hace mucho tiempo con el Fondo de Cultura Económica en la traducción y edición de obras, además de haber dirigido su revista llamada La Gaceta. También ha sido columnista de Proceso, publicación semanal de información y análisis, y en la actualidad escribe acerca del Siglo de Oro para la Revista de la Universidad.
