She is the owner of The J Standard Media Group, LLC, and the creator of the PR concierge services Your PR Assistant and She Boom! Project. As a lifelong image activist, she has fought hard to place African American faces in mainstream media. 5-minute mom @walgreens

My visits to Walgreen’s are always eventful. I could be running in for one and one thing only, and something strange happens. Like the time, I jumped out of the car, and my flip flop broke. I just walked in with one shoe off and one shoe off. They were all out of them, so... Read More Read more of this blog post »

“Like the lotus flower, business blooms in the mud, and in the dark of night. The lotus is an amazing creation of God, because for all of its beauty, it is the sum total of work performed in a mess. It is also a creation that has the ability to create seeds in its habitat for a very long time without help from human hands. The lotus has the ability to survive beyond the mercurial nature of weather (storms, frost). The lotus is one strong, powerful, and resilient flower that blossoms in a substance (mud) that none of us would want to touch.”
Robin Caldwell, When Women Become Business Owners

“You're the loveliest you'll ever be...until tomorrow and then you will be even lovelier.”
Robin Caldwell

“You can live doing what you love
or die having done nothing at all.”
Robin Caldwell

“Food is heritage. Food is economy. Food is culture. It makes no sense for a major city in the U.S. not to have someone documenting a city's foodways story, especially cities with major research universities. It ain't bougie or boring, it's protecting the truth.”
Robin Caldwell

“Food, like your money, should be working for you!”
Rita Deattrea Beckford M.D.

“It’s all about falling in love with yourself and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you, rather than looking for love to compensate for a self love deficit.”
Eartha Kitt

“No person has the right to rain on your dreams.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

“The music in his laughter had a way of rounding off the missing notes in her soul.”
Gloria Naylor, Linden Hills

Jeremy I want to apologize for the all the recommendations from me yesterday. I wanted to share the Stoker Award news, and I only pressed the send button once--I'm not sure what happened to create so many messages. Some weird glitch.

Argh...this is terrible...

Again, I'm very sorry.

-Jeremy

Jeremy Here’s wishing you a nifty New Year filled with noiseless noses, neato nicknames, noble Nebraskans, gnarly narcoleptic nebulas, and novel novels about nut-eating narwhals and novercaphobic gnats.

-Jeremy :)

P.S.—I’m currently offering autographed/personally-inscribed copies of my novel, Vacation, with free shipping for those in the US. If there’s anything you could do to help me spread the word about this, I’d really appreciate it. Feel free to click here for details:

Jeremy Hi Robin!

Here’s wishing you a yippee-filled Yuletime overflowing with yard-long yams, yapping yoyo-yanking yetis, yak-milk yeast-cakes, and yellow yarn-yielding year-end yard-gnomes.

-Jeremy :)

Jeremy Hi Robin!

If you don't mind sharing--I was wondering, what's your favorite novel of all time?

Here’s wishing you a fantastic day filled with fabulous friendships, fanciful festivities, and frolicking phantom footstools.

-Jeremy :)

Daniel Robin, I see you are in a self publishing group. It can be done. I started out with an old mimeograph machine and I made up a rigging manual for the DC-3 and sold it through Trade-A-Plane and made money.

Rosemary Robin, thank you for the invitation. You have some interesting books on your list, and I look forward to reading your comments.
Happy reading!

Michelle Robin, I'm seeing your gorgeous face a lot lately. So do you like Goodreads the same or better than Shelfari? Just curious.

message 1: by Adriane (last edited Aug 25, 2016 12:23PM)

Adriane Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of your circle of friends. Feel free to let me know of any "good-reads" you may come across. I look forward to reading with you.
