Mr. ZHI’s first name is Michael. He spent the first 5 years of his life in northern California, living out in the woods on the edge of Yosemite National Park near a small town named Greeley Hill. He didn’t have a tree house, but a tree fortress, complete with locking hatches, benches and everything one could possibly want if they planned on surviving the zombie apocalypse and lived in the forest. As a young boy, he would take a couple of dogs with him and then go wander through the forest to visit the saw mill or neighbors who lived nearby.

Michael moved to southern California when he was 5 and spent the rest of his time there until after he graduated high school. He lived out in the country near Santa Clarita. He worked for neighbors helpin Mr. ZHI’s first name is Michael. He worked for neighbors helping look after livestock and horses, cleaning, and doing yard work (to include cutting brush, digging ditches and putting up fences). He had humble beginnings and grew up extremely poor. He lived nearly 8 years without running water or electricity. He never lived in anything bigger than a 20 foot (~7 meter) trailer.

Michael spent his free time drawing, exercising, hiking, and reading. He would read and draw at night by candlelight. He cooked his food over a fire. He went to the bathroom in the wilderness. He would climb hills and chop wood for fun and exercise. He lived the way people had over 100 years earlier.

In high school, Michael was a good student, but a somewhat disruptive force in the class room. Very talkative and a bit of a class clown, he probably caused headaches for quite a few teachers. That being said, he was a curious student and was always engaged in the material and asking questions. Teachers generally loved or hated him, but mostly loved him. He played a variety of sports but fell in love with weight lifting and did weight training as an elective very semester of high school – he was one of the strongest kids at school.

Immediately after high school, he joined the Marine Corps Reserve as a Forward Observer and deployed to Iraq less than a year later. After he got back from Iraq, he moved to Texas where he started going to college before deciding to enlist into the US Army for active duty in intelligence for 4 years. He deployed 3 more times, twice to Iraq and once to Afghanistan.

After completing his last deployment, Michael left the military and spent the next 5 years going to college and traveling and living in South America. He fell in love with a girl in Medellin, Colombia and moved to Medellin to live. The girl broke his heart, but he stayed in Medellin a bit longer. He also learned to be a professional massage therapist and bartender during this time.

Since returning from Colombia several years ago, Michael returned to college and to the Army National Guard. In his free time, he likes to read, learn new things, travel, exercise, shoot and help people learn how to avoid getting eaten by zombies.
