| I had the good fortune to hear J. Brooke read some of these poems at a book launch for this collection, and was instantly captivated. Brooke looks at gender journeys (their own, and those of others) with sensitivity but never sentimentality, employin ...more | |

| I'd never heard of this book (though I'd heard of G.K. Chesterton) until a few days ago, and was so beguiled by the title that I had to start it right away. It's a wild ride, by turns hilarious, surreal, and philosophical. ...more | |

"3.5 stars. It wasn't as "riveting" as I thought it would be, but I'm glad I read it, and I respect her for writing it. We women who have been through a divorce that we didn't want or ask for from a husband who changed and chose to leave are in a spec"

I knew you graduated from Emerson, actually. That's how I recognized your name. I was there from 92-95. I don't know if we knew each other or not--I'm awful with faces--but I know I bought a copy of your chapbook sometime in the late 90s because I knew you were an Emerson grad. Go figger. :-) Hope you're well.
