Bruno Frank (June 13, 1887 – June 20, 1945) was a German author, poet, playwright, screenwriter, and humanist.

Frank was born in Stuttgart. He studied law and philosophy in Munich, where he later worked as a dramatist and novelist until the Reichstag fire in 1933. Persecuted by the government because of his Jewish heritage, he left Nazi Germany with his wife, Liesl, daughter of famed Jewish operetta diva Fritzi Massary and Count Karl Coudenhove. They lived for four years in Austria and England, before emigrating in 1937 to the United States, where he was reunited with his friends Heinrich Mann and Thomas Mann.
