Dandelion Wine has taken me by surprise. I almost don't want to like it just because I'm a snobby book reader sometimes and I never had much opinion of Ray Bradbury, but every time I start reading this I get really engrossed in it and I find myself falling in love with it one page at a time.

His descriptions of people and things and feelings are so vivid and alive. The way the wild country constantly tries to encroach upon the town and how the ravine is the dividing point between them. The making of Dandelion wine, the feeling of new sneakers, his feeling of being alive, noticing life and all its beautiful intricate mi-nute detail, summer-time being stored in wine jars only to be enjoyed in the blue gray cold of winter. His words are like the elements, they have a unique effect upon you and you can literally feel them affect your senses. So far, this book is pure summer and sunshine... Lovin' it.
