In an attempt to get her Middle School students to read more for pleasure, Susan Kotch wrote her first book, Casey of Cranberry Cove over a two-month summer vacation. Setting it in her hometown of Lavallette, New Jersey, on a barrier island nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay, the story lured both young and old alike to the beautiful beaches, balmy nights and carefree living of a resort town in summer. When not writing or teaching, she is walking around town in flip flops or biking on her beach cruiser, hanging at the local ice cream shop. or walking her Golden Doodle named Sasha. Her husband, Jay, can usually be found windsurfing on the bay, and her son, Jase, is living the corporate life in Massachusetts.
